Consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for business meetings, board sessions, conferences, legal proceedings, and negotiations.
Interpretation is the spoken version of what translation does for written text, and the skill set is substantially different. A trained interpreter works in real time under pressure, maintaining accuracy while simultaneously tracking the speaker, managing their own mental processing of two languages, and delivering an output that sounds natural in the target language.
We provide consecutive interpretation for meetings and negotiations where there are pauses between speakers, and simultaneous interpretation for conferences and larger events where continuous real-time output is needed. Both require professional training and experience. We do not supply bilingual staff as interpreters.
For legal proceedings including hearings, depositions, and witness interviews, interpretation must meet higher standards than for business meetings. Court interpreters are required to take an oath and are held to a strict accuracy standard. We provide certified court interpreters for Swiss cantonal and federal courts.
Remote interpretation via video or telephone is available for meetings and smaller proceedings. On-site interpretation is available anywhere in Switzerland and can be arranged for international locations with advance notice. For larger events requiring interpretation booths and equipment, we can advise on technical setup requirements.
"The board session ran for four hours across three languages and the interpretation was seamless throughout."
